Pete MacLeod (Shed Seven Support) - Glasgow - Barrowland - Thursday December 12 2013
Having been to see Shed Seven on a number of occasions, I have to be honest and say I was looking forward to hearing and seeing Pete MacLeod as much as I was Shed Seven. It was clear I was not the only one excited to see this man lose his ‘Barras Cherry’ and for those lucky enough to be there Pete did not disappoint with his emotionally charged acoustic set. Pete treated the crowd to a selection of songs from his debut album ‘Rolling Stone’ in a 30 minute set that included God Speed, Rolling Stone, Let it Shine, Give a Little Love and the mystical Today I Went Swimming. Respectfully, Pete dedicated his set to the Clutha Vaults and left the stage to much applause.
Since seeing Pete at the ABC last month his album has been played heavily in Castle Mills and with each listen I cannot help but think these songs are destined to become well-known by the masses within the next year. If you have caught this man live you probably share my thoughts and already have a ticket for his next Glasgow gig at King Tut’s. However, for those of you still to hear Pete my suggestion is get yourself along to King Tut’s and check this man out now before venues and audiences become much bigger!
