The Gramotones (Steve Cradock Support) - Glasgow - Oran Mor - Wednesday 30 October 2013
It was is always a shame to miss the support act of a gig and if you arrived to this gig late I have a feeling you may live to regret this in the future as I am sure we will be hearing a lot more about these boys from Oldham! Ok, so I did not know the songs to sing along to but I loved the sound these guys generated in their stripped down set. Not only did these guys sound great, they have some great taste in clothes and I was left wanting at least 2 of their jackets! Perhaps Liam will look to these guys when introducing the next season of Pretty Green clothing (remember where you read it first)!
The Gramotones did a fantastic version of the Band's The Weight...certainly the best live version of this song I have ever heard. Anyways, after a few tracks I had already decided The Gramotones CD would be my second CD purchase of the week (behind Pete MacLeod's Rolling Stone). Whilst only a 2 track EP is currently available, the tracks Soldier's Kiss and Victorian Town have been on my CD player so much I have been using the Repeat Button for the first time ever on my player.
The future looks good for the Gramotones and if they are playing in a town near you I suggest you check them out!
